Embossing Powder is powdered mica which when sprinkled over a slow drying ink, such as versamark and heated, creates a raised shiny effect.
Ultra fine embossing powder is like icing sugar, very fine and is used for detailed rubber stamped images to give clear and beautiful effects.
Ultra Thick embossing powder is like granulated sugar and as such is not suitable for fine detail stamp images, but rather used as a glaze over an image to give a 3D effect.
Embossing Tinsels as the name suggests is an embossing powder with glitter added to create something a little bit sparkly.

Embossing powder comes in many colours but I find that the basic colours of Black, Gold, Silver and Clear cover most requirements, as you can use embossing pens to colour your stamped image then stamp down and cover with clear powder which allows the ink underneath to show through.
